After spending 12 years in the RAF as a fighter plane mechanic, I left the service to join Lotus Engineering in Norfolk. There, I was a member of the design team, devising solutions for all manner of technical problems that present themselves at a leading edge engineering consultancy.
My manufacturing skills include machining, turning, milling, welding and fabrication work and I have a fully equipped workshop on the outskirts of Norwich to support these tasks.
A Volkswagon enthusiast at heart, I have always enjoyed customising VW engines and vehicles and have recently finished restoring a 1969 VW split screen camper van. I found great pleasure in stripping this down to the shell and completely rebuilding it whilst upgrading the engine to a Renault V8 - it goes a lot faster now!
I have been nominated for an award for my work for REMAP. My design for a cup holder for an elderly person who uses a wheelchair has been the focus of much attention and attracted further orders.
